A group of Pinal County sheriff deputies shot and killed a Queen Creek resident early Saturday after the man fired a gun at the officers, authorities say.
The department received a report of domestic violence in an unincorporated portion of Pinal County on the 4500 Block of Rolling Ridge Road at 3 a.m., according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Vanessa White. When deputies arrived, 55-year-old David Hogue pointed a firearm at the responding sheriffs’ vehicles and fired a single shot, she said.
Several deputies returned fire and struck Hogue, White said. Hogue was transported to Scottsdale Osborne Healthcare where he later died from his injuries.

wow TS ur behind! i expected you to be the first to slam the deputies! Glad to here the officers made it through unharmed.
DAVID HOGUE WAS A PERSONAL FREIND OF MINE.HE WAS A GENTLE KIND PERSON THAT WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU.THE CIRCUMSTANCES BEHIND HIS TRAGIC DEATH IS MORE INVOLVED THAN THIS ARTICLE.ALTHOUGH I DONT FAULT THE DEPUTIES, I ALSO KNOW THAT DAVE WAS A VICTIM OF A HORRIBLE PLOT SET INTO ACTION BY HIS DERANGED ALCOHOLIC WIFE WHO IN MY OPINION KILLED DAVE.
WE LOVE YOU DAVE AND WILL MISS YOU.
Well, Rick, gentle David Hogue pointed a gun at police and pulled the trigger. Shouldn’t a reasonable and sane person be able to avoid a plot set into action by a deranged alcoholic? If your friend thought shooting at police was a good idea, maybe he was the deranged one.
Dave will be missed and I so am right there with you Rick about Dave being a gentle kind person who would do anything for you and has for me - also was a friend of mine. And there has to be more involved than this article. No fault to the deputies they did what they had to do. We will miss you Dave - RIP!!!!!
I don’t see Dave in this place. He would do anything for his friends. He was a good friend to me and I knew him for 20 years.Maybe he needed help with at home ,but not this.I hope the story dosen’t end here. We love you Dave, rip.
