PCSO deputies kill suspect during gun battle

December 27th, 2008, 2:48 pm · 5 Comments · posted by Devon Hersom

A group of Pinal County sheriff deputies shot and killed a Queen Creek resident early Saturday after the man fired a gun at the officers, authorities say.

The department received a report of domestic violence in an unincorporated portion of Pinal County on the 4500 Block of Rolling Ridge Road at 3 a.m., according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Vanessa White. When deputies arrived, 55-year-old David Hogue pointed a firearm at the responding sheriffs’ vehicles and fired a single shot, she said.

Several deputies returned fire and struck Hogue, White said. Hogue was transported to Scottsdale Osborne Healthcare where he later died from his injuries.

DAVID HOGUE WAS A PERSONAL FREIND OF MINE.HE WAS A GENTLE KIND PERSON THAT WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU.THE CIRCUMSTANCES BEHIND HIS TRAGIC DEATH IS MORE INVOLVED THAN THIS ARTICLE.ALTHOUGH I DONT FAULT THE DEPUTIES, I ALSO KNOW THAT DAVE WAS A VICTIM OF A HORRIBLE PLOT SET INTO ACTION BY HIS DERANGED ALCOHOLIC WIFE WHO IN MY OPINION KILLED DAVE.
WE LOVE YOU DAVE AND WILL MISS YOU.

Well, Rick, gentle David Hogue pointed a gun at police and pulled the trigger. Shouldn’t a reasonable and sane person be able to avoid a plot set into action by a deranged alcoholic? If your friend thought shooting at police was a good idea, maybe he was the deranged one.
