A man suspected of repeatedly raping and impregnating a girl in Oklahoma was arrested in Mesa on Tuesday.
Edward Baughman, 56, was taken into custody at a residence in the 8600 block of East Main Street, the U.S. Marshals Service said. The morning arrest took place without incident and he now is awaiting extradition back to Oklahoma.
Baughman was wanted on a warrant for rape, issued in October. His alleged victim was 12 years old, authorities said.
Baughman at first cooperated with law enforcement officials in Oklahoma, but then fled. Last month, the Oklahoma City Metro Fugitive Task Force began hunting for Baughman and soon determined he was residing in the Valley.

How about a BIG congratulations for the law enforcement agencies who worked together to apprehend this monster. They get scant credit for the job they do so admirably. ‘Atta boy’ to our police guys!!

Way to go Mesa PD. This is a case where there should be some good old frontier justice meted out or the kind practiced in Saudia Arabia or Afghanistan. I agree that he needs to be placed with a big Bubba in prison so he can “earn” his keep.

This is a very sick man and has been all of his life. He has children that we believe he has done the same thing to them. If you only knew the rest of this story you would only hope like I do that he will never see the light of day. His wife also needs to be arrested because I am sure that she has know about this all along. THESE ARE SICK INDIVIDUALS THAT SHOULD NOT BE ON THE STREETS.
