Gilbert driver strikes ambulance in intersection

December 17th, 2008, 2:53 pm · 3 Comments · posted by Devon Hersom

A Gilbert woman traveling through an intersection struck an ambulance responding to an emergency call Tuesday, police say.

Driver Trisha Hauserman, 30, failed to yield to the ambulance as it traveled eastbound through the intersection of Higley and Germann roads, according to Gilbert police spokesman Mark Marino. The ambulance stopped at the intersection before it entered the roadway at 5:30 p.m. and several other cars had already yielded for the medical vehicle to pass, he said.

Hauserman was traveling northbound on Higley Road when she struck the vehicle, Marino said.

Marino could not confirm that Hauserman received a citation for the accident, but said the driver of the ambulance, David Watts, was not injured in the collision.

DON’T TELL ME - she was “text-messaging” or talking on her cell phone. PAY ATTENTION, PEOPLE. No excuse for this.

UMMMM…I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT SHE WAS NOT TEXTING OR TALKING ON THE PHONE WHEN THIS ACCIDENT ACCURED, I ALSO KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS REPORT IS FALSE, THERE ARE WITNESSES THAT CORROBORATE THE ACCOUNTS THAT MS. HAUSERMAN SAYS HAPPENED. THE AMBULANCE DID NOT STOP BEFORE PROCEDING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, IF THEY HAD HER FRONT END WOULD NOT BE AS DAMAGED AS IT IS. THE LIGHT HAD JUST TURNED GREEN SO OF COURSE THE CARS WERE STOPPED. THEY ARE COMMENTING ON A POLICE REPORT THAT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN MADE OFFICIAL, NOT UNTIL SATURDAY.

Don’t worry Samantha………..something is amiss and perhaps your friend should review witness statements or even go public and try to find other witnesses herself………..I do believe in cop corruption and various other agency cover ups, either way, your friend is in for a mess if she doesn’t become active and correct what you say is wrong………..by the way, if you are a witness you can go to the reporting police agency and add a “witness statement” to this “report”…….make sure you get a certified copy or a copy w/ whatever cop takes in your witness statement………………
