Two thugs robbed a woman Thursday minutes after she cashed her paycheck.
The woman cashed her check at Broadway Road and Stapley Drive and then drove to her apartment at 950 E. Southern Ave, according to Mesa police.
The men, one of them armed with a gun, struck as she was getting out of her car. One of the robbers was described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet, 6 inches, 160 pounds, brown hair, big moustache, 40 to 50 years old and wearing a checkered shirt and jeans. There was no description on the second suspect.

Hmmm, lets see take away their jobs so they can’t pay their rent,buy food etc. What did you expect to happen? BTW Illegal immigration started in 1492.

Hey Fred, that’s a pretty stupid and lame justification for someone getting robbed at gunpoint. I hope the Trib publishes your name and address so the next time the armed robbers need money they will come to your house to get it since you don’t mind sharing.

Pretty sure armed robbery was around long before illegal immigation laws were put in place. If they have not been caught, how do we know they were illegal? Things that make you go “huh?”
If this is about jobs, why don’t they just go back to Mexico. I understand that the unemployment rate is much lower there then any other So. American Country. I am hispanic but that doesnt not mean that I condone the fact that these scum bags in the article held up a woman, put her at risk of impending death and took her hard earned money.
Whether these men were undocumented immigrants or not has nothing to do with this. If these men were hungry they could have gone to a soup kitchen and gotten a meal or could have contacted a charity to see how they can acquire anything that they would need for their family.
Sounds like it might be someone who KNEW she had a job, KNEW it was payday, KNEW she kept the cash on her (because most of us do deposit it in the bank) and KNEW what time she was getting home…………gee, I hope this doesn’t end up being an unsolved case……….
Or….someone standing behind her when she cashed her check and followed her.
People need to be more aware of what is going on around them!
