A police investigation into a stolen card has led to the arrest of a Mesa man for allegedly possessing child pornography, authorities said.
Tempe police took Aaron Joseph Peeples, 29, into custody on Wednesday. He was booked into jail on a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Police said they found on Peeples’ laptop computer more than 500 images of sexually exploited children.
Investigators made their discovery, police said, while investigating Peeples’ sister in connection with using a computer to make a purchase with a stolen credit card.
Peeples’ computer was seized along with two other computers, and while investigators searched for the stolen credit card information, they discovered the child porn.
