According to court records, a woman was in the parking lot at St. Timothy Catholic Community, 1738 W. Guadalupe Road, getting items out of her car about 1 p.m. when a man pulled out a gun and demanded her car.
When the woman refused, the man threatened her, but she still said “No.” She then began praying and the man left without taking anything from her.
The woman called police, and they arrested James Jett, 24, of Mesa on suspicion of armed robbery.
Court records say that Jett had a pistol with him and admitted to committing the attempted robbery. He said he was trying to get money.

Have we separated ourselves so far from God in society that people have no fear or shame? To rob someone at church; what has our world come to? Violent criminals do not fear anything. They don’t fear prison, guns, police and apparently God. We are not allowed to speak of religion or God anywhere in public (other than churches) and look where it has got us. No fear. God is to fear. Those who choose not to obey will suffer.
