A 4-year-old girl was pulled from a pool Sunday, but was alert and breathing when paramedics arrived.
Tempe fire officials said the girl somehow ended up face down in a backyard swimming pool, located near Guadalupe and Kyrene roads, about 11:45 a.m. She was discovered quickly after her family couldn’t find her in the home.
The child’s grandfather pulled her out of the pool and began CPR until paramedics arrived.
She was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
Officials said there was a gate around the pool, but the child somehow still gained access.
