A man suspected of robbing a Chandler bank on Monday has turned himself into authorities after his girlfriend convinced him to call the Mesa Police Department and confess.
According to Chandler Police spokesman Frank Mendoza, Jose Luis Morales Jr. was recognized by a sheriff’s employee as a previous inmate in a news broadcast. Morales’ girlfriend also saw a news broadcast of her friend and later convinced him to call police on Thursday.
Mesa Police responded to his home near the intersection of Main Street and Extension Road to take Morales into custody Wednesday, according to Mesa spokesman Sgt. Ed Wessing.
Morales, 36, is suspected of robbing a Chase Bank inside of a Fry’s store near the intersection of Dobson and Ray roads on Monday at 4:45 p.m.

Single mom working 2 jobs,
Any tips as to where they are hiring baggers? I was laid off from my job of 12 years in February and have applied for over 45 positions since, with NO job offers yet. Even getting a “first” job right now is not a guarantee. Still, I am not saying that robbery is the answer at all.
With added pressure from the CPD Gang Unit this guy had to turn himself in. The bloodhounds were on to him and would have caught him sooner or later. Kudos to the girlfriend convincing this guy to turn himself in.
I’m from indiana this man is my ex-husband and i’ve been looking for him for the past 10 years and he’s the father of my son.
