An undercover police vehicle was stolen in a Casa Grande parking lot Wednesday evening with 75 pounds of marijuana inside, authorities say.  The vehicle was later found but the drugs have not yet been recovered.

Four men were arrested in Casa Grande regarding the car theft that occurred Wednesday at 5 p.m. but the vehicle was later discovered in Eloy, according to PCSO spokesman Mike Minter. The vehicle was parked at the Promenade Mall for an investigative operation.

Miguel Rodriguez, 23, of Eloy, Carlos Orozco, 22, Jose Orozco Jr., 18 and Jose Orozco Sr., 48- all of Arizona City, were arrested by Pinal County deputies at the scene of the theft.  They will face charges including possession and transportation of marijuana, aggravated assault of a police officer and theft as a mean of transportation, Minter said.

In this heat 75lbs of pot would be smelled many yards away. Pot is the smell of money to those who know it’s street value. Of course they did not find the pot. At $800 to $1000 per pound 75lbs could yield a thug up to an easy $75,000 payday.

When stealing cars becomes a crime, all car thieves will be criminals.

  • The Arranger says:

You know what they say, the family that does the crime together does the time together. At least this father planned family activities with his children.

This is just one more case of how dangerous and out-of-control this drug war has gotten. First of all this is about a weed that grows wild from Canada to the south pole and has been used for relaxation and medication for 4 thousand years with no incidents until it was illegalized in 1937. The real issue is who do you call when somebody steals this valuable and highly effective medicine that you can’t get at the drug store. Who do you call when thieves crawl over your fence and steal the only medication that works for your dying and suffering loved ones. Shame on all of you for missing the point.

Throw out all of “those people’ as quickly as possible!

Don’t cops have rapists, murderers, crackheads, and other dangerous criminals to take off the streets? News flash, you will never see a pothead robbing or killing to get their drugs. In today’s violent society, you would think that pot would have more of a positive effect than anything.
I think we just need to accept that drugs always have and always will be a large part of the human race and focus on dealing with the ones that are actually dangerous.

Just because they have Hispanic names doesn’t make them illegal immigrants. Actually, I’m pretty sure the majority of US citizens have Hispanic surnames. Maybe I am finally the minority, where is my affirmative action?
