A 59-year-old woman died Monday after her car veered off the road and hit a bicyclist in Glendale, authorities say.
The woman suffered from an unknown medical episode that caused her to lose control of her vehicle at the intersection of 59th and Olive avenues, near Glendale Community College, at 11:15 a.m., according to Glendale police spokesman Matt Barnett.
Barnett said the woman’s car hit a pole after the collision with the bike. She died on the way to the hospital from the medical episode, Barnett said.
The 45-year-old male bicyclist received only minor injuries, Barnett said.
