A Circle K clerk was threatened by a man with a gun early Friday after he entered the convenience store and stole a carton of cigarettes.
Mesa police say that the man entered a Circle K near Dobson and Guadalupe roads at 2:30 a.m. and asked the female clerk for a carton of cigarettes. After the clerk placed the carton on the counter, the man grabbed it and left the store without paying.
The clerk followed the man to a four-door brown sedan and confronted him for not paying, police say.
The man pulled out a gun and threatened the clerk before the vehicle fled south on Dobson Road.
Police have not released a description of the robber or any of the three men in the car at the time.
