The man authorities suspect owned the gun a 12-year-old Queen Creek Middle School student took to school earlier this week was arrested Friday.
Fernando Martinez-Cura, 37, was arrested by Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies after admitting ownership of the weapon. Deputies also determined that Martinez-Cura, the boyfriend of the boy’s grandmother, was living in the country illegally.
On Wednesday, the boy brought a loaded 9 mm handgun to school because, he said, someone was picking on him. The boy was seen showing other students how to load the gun. The investigation determined that the boy most likely acquired the gun at his grandmother’s house, where her boyfriend left it.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Wednesday he suspected Martinez-Cura was an illegal immigrant, and that an arrest would be made because it is against the law for illegal immigrants to carry weapons.
Martinez-Cura was jailed on suspicion of felony misconduct involving a weapon and on two outstanding warrants, according to sheriff’s deputies. The 12-year-old boy may face felony charges of possession of a firearm and misdemeanor charges of endangerment, according to Arpaio.
The boy’s family of six may also face deportation because the father, mother and a 10-year-old sibling were also found to be in the country illegally.

What IS going on here? There shoiuld be no discussion on whether or not these people get booted out of this country. Put them all in jail. This situation is typical of most of the Mexicans here in this country illegally. Ours laws don’t apply to them, because they aren’t on the books.

Right now there are people reading this story who are outraged that his citizenship is even mentioned in the article. I moved away from the valley for almost 20 years and am now back. Comparing the situation back then and now, I have one observation to share with everybody…IT’S TOO LATE!
The U.S. continues along as one of the only industrialized nations that has automatic citizenship for anybody born here. Those crossing illegally and living here are just the tip of the iceberg. IT IS ALREADY TOO LATE!

Mexican heritage dictates that a party be held to celebrate the female child first menstruation. It’s a way to welcome her into woman hood and offer her up for mating. It’s a cultural thing. The Mormons do this, and the husband is usually related. The only thing wrong seems to be an age difference that is on both sides of the legal age of 18.

Living in QC and knowing people who work for the school district and have lived here a long time themselves there is no sympathy for the bully. That’s exactly what he is and comes by it honestly. His own mother is an illegal and has an arrest record a mile long. She’s been deported many times for shoplifting, theft, receiving stolen goods, etc. She gets arrested, jailed, bailed, deported, and is back in less than 48 hours. The criminal justice system to that family is a joke and the school district can’t seem to do anything about this bully so he continues to get away with the bullying—has for years.
