Police suspect that a woman stabbed her boyfriend in the chest at his Mesa home and followed the attack by cutting a member of his family in the arm.
Clauncey Enos, 22, was arrested by Mesa police Thursday at 5:20 p.m. and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, according to a police booking form.
The form said that Enos had been in an argument with her boyfriend earlier in the day after she borrowed his vehicle. The boyfriend was sitting in his apartment living room with his cousin when Enos entered, hiding a large knife behind her back.
She lunged at her boyfriend and stabbed him in the chest, the report said, and the boyfriend fled from the apartment. He later returned to his home after Enos had left and his two brothers and a sister-in-law found him on the couch.
At the time of the incident, police believe Enos was under the influence of crystal meth.
The three family members went to Enos’ apartment and confronted her about what happened, the report said. Enos lashed out with the knife and cut a second person with the weapon and then fled, according to the report.
Authorities were able to capture Enos after a foot pursuit and found a bloody knife in her pant pocket, the report said.
The boyfriend sustained life-threating injuries from the attack and could not be interviewed by police.
The identities of the victims have not been released.
