A man was arrested Saturday after his truck crashed into the front of Hong Kong Gourmet restaurant, 1744 W. Main Street, in Mesa.
After being treated for injuries at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital, Roberto Mendoza Gomez, 28, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Police said officers found Mendoza’s passenger lying on the ground next to the truck. Witnesses told police the driver ran or walked away from the area after the crash.
He was found in the area of Pepper and Longmore by patrol officers and matched the description that witnesses gave police. Also, he had visible injuries to his face.
