DPS officials detained two suspects who ran away from authorities after their vehicle was pulled over on a highway, according to officials.DPS officials said they responded to a call that described a car driving in the wrong direction down the Loop 202 and McDowell Road late Wednesday night. The vehicle was pulled over into a median by officers, but the suspects fled the scene on foot.DPS officers chased after the suspects and managed to detain the suspects at around 8:30 p.m.; a Mesa police helicopter assisted in the search, according to authorities.The reason the suspects fled was unknown at press time.
