Man steals items from store, throws desserts at clerk

A man is suspected of returning to a convenience store multiple times Sunday and stealing beer, cigarettes and lighters and throwing cookies and brownies at the cashier, whom he also grabbed and hit.
Court records say Milton Gilbert Perez, 22, of Mesa, was arrested just before 2:30 a.m. on charges of robbery and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. The incidents occurred at 7-11, 1210 W. Guadalupe Road.
Court records say the clerk was scared and called the store’s owner after the man repeatedly appeared at the store. The manager closed and locked the door, but Perez pounded on the glass until police arrived.
