A 17-year-old boy who was taken to Banner Baywood Medical center by his mother reported that he was stabbed in the neck by another 17-year-old at 4:36 p.m. Thursday in the 7100 block of east Arbor Avenue in Mesa.
When contacted by Mesa police at his residence, the second teen said that the victim and two other males drove past him, got out of their car and began a fight. The second teen said the victim produced a knife and that he was stabbed while struggling with the three other men.
Police said the victim’s injuries were non -life threatening. Investigators believe the incident is gang related.
And where were the Mesa police? They were all posted at GASCON’s media party on Baseline and Mesa Drive. Gascon is a disgrace to our community. He should be fired!
he is a good man and it isnt his fault that parents dont teach their kids better .he is doing what he can he isnt superman but a damn good cheif .he isnt to blame for stupid teenagers gang fights he didnt say join these gangs and kill each other now did he.
cookie it happens in other cities too. you would cry for gascon if a riot breaks out and you got hit with a brick to your FACE!!! for not having enough officers out at the sweeps.
Cookie-a thousand more cops won’t stop this type of crime. Try some education for the youth and all. This is the third or fourth stabbing in a week. Get a Reality check. This isn’t getting better.
Wait a minute if this happened in Mesa near Arpaio’s Crime Sweeps why didn’t he take care of it. I mean is this not what he is trying to prevent???? stop chasing Illegals and get real criminals of the streets.

They were all at Gascon’s media party? Give me a break Cookie, Mesa PD has over 800 Officers to cover the streets and they were certainly all not at ARPAIO’S media party. Your a fool. Gascon did not bring the attention, ARPAIO did. Gascon is a cop. Arpaio is a wannabee cop who is only a politician.

Not really in Tempe, they’re on a …..COUNTY ISLAND! Which is the COUNTY SHERIFF’S responsibility! Ask the folks in Wittman how they feel about the sweeps. They can’t seem to get a deputy when they need one. Don’t like Chief Gascon? Write to your city council representative and the mayor. They can do something about it, assuming the majority of Mesa residents feel as you do. By the way, Sheriff Joe has cost Maricopa Coounty over $43 million in court settlements, and we haven’t seen the lawsuits over the “sweeps” yet, but Chandler paid out $500K for doing the same thing back in 1995.
