A female employee of a car was at 430 S. Country Club Drive in Mesa reported being robbed at 8:17 a.m. Thursday. The woman told police that a black male, 6-foot-1, 170 pounds and wearing a red T-shirt and black pants came to the businesses’ office door, which she opened. He cut the victim’s arm with a box cutter and demanded the cash victim was counting. She said the man ran away from the scene to the north. She told police it was the same man who cut her during a robbery attempt about a month earlier. The victim received minor injuries and was not transported to a hospital.

UH, why would she open the door (while she was counting cash no less) to the man that she recognized as the man that previously assaulted her??? Sounds like an inside job to me! Employee fraud, arrest her for the theft…

And where were the Mesa police? They were all posted at GASCON’s media party on Baseline and Mesa Drive. Gascon is a disgrace to our community. He should be fired!

Ok, Cookie , we get your point. I can’t believe that ALL MPD were at the media party as you call it. I also don’t remember when ANY police dept. could tell the future, and stop a crime before it happened. Maybe YOU should be fired also, the you and Gascon could sit down try to figure out what you problems are…

Smells fishy to me - this kind of stuff could easily be a set up by a dishonest employee. If I were the owner of this this place I would insist that two people handle all cash - and then ask the employee several times exactly how the robbery went down - looking for inconsistencies. No one just comes in off the street and “cuts me” with a box cutter before they demand money.. not even the dumbest criminals.. either the something provoked him (i.e. resistance) or it was a cover up.

she opened the door to the same guy who cut and attempted to rob her a month earlier. minor injuries requiring no treatment.

She was very, very stupid for opening the office door to the same person who attempted to rob her a month before ! If that is what actually happened, I bet she has the money stashed away some where.

I thought this sounded familiar. Why would you open the door again? If it were me & I was recently attacked there’s no way in hell I’d be answering the door! I’d be on the phone with the cops or better yet I would open the door so he could look down the barrel of my shotgun! Something doesn’t sound right. Either she’s lying or very, very dumb.
