A Chandler man whose blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit for driving when he caused a fatal collision last year was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years in prison.

Efrain Vincente-Cruz, 30, was spotted on Dec. 17 by a witness in the area of Rittenhouse and Ellsworth roads driving erratically.

He crashed his car head-on into one driven by Marjorie Weeks, 59.

According to police, his BAC was .243, whereas the legal limit is .08.

Only 14 years??!! I am sure he is an illegal alien for one thing so now he will be living off the government for free for the next 14 years!! Send him back to Mexico!

    was he an illegal????????

  • Debi says:

Yes, he IS an illegal, been here several years. Why isn’t he being deported? What is his possabliity of parol? Why only 14 years for takeing the life of an innocent AMERICAN citizen?????

  • Lynn says:

First he rapes our system then he murders one of our most outstanding citizens. Thank Bush for allowing him to be here in the first place.

Being deported will just mean he will be back here free in 2 weeks, if that. He was most likely soaking off the system before the accident, so now he is incarcerated not being able to drive drunk. 14 years is not an adequate sentence, but it was sad to say the max. Isn’t Arizona suppose to have some of the srtictest drunk driving laws. What happened? I
