The body of a Chandler man who had been missing since March 22 was found Friday by a hiker.
James Martinson, 37, was found about a mile from Interstate 17 near the Stoneman Lake Road exit, which is an area where rescuers searched extensively when he disappeared.
Martinson, who commuted between Flagstaff, where he lived and worked during the week, and Chandler, where he shared a home with his wife, left behind his cell phone, computer, and wallet in his car, which was left unlocked at the Stoneman Lake exit.
Dwight D’Evelyn, Yavapai County sheriff’s spokesman, said recently that it appeared his disappearance was voluntary and no foul play was involved.
In a press release Friday, the sheriff’s office said it appears Martinson committed suicide.
