A dog bit a Gilbert cop Saturday as he tried to help a driver involved a car crash.
According to Gilbert police, the 38-year-old driver suffered an apparent seizure as he drove his car north on Higley Road near Ocotillo Road, where he left the road and into a construction site and eventually a field.
The car got stuck in the mud and the officer saw the driver continuing to have a seizure, so he broke out the window and reached in to put the car into park.
The dog, which had been in the back seat, bit the officer’s hand.
Police say pepper spray was used on the animal to gain control of it.
