A TGI Friday’s restaurant in Chandler was extensively damaged after a grease fire in the kitchen engulfed most of the building in flame Saturday night.
An employee was treated and released on the scene at Chandler Road and 54th Street for smoke inhalation after medical crews responded to the emergency call made at 8:45 p.m. by a person inside the restaurant, according to Dan Couch of Chandler fire. No one else was injured.
Couch said the fire started in the kitchen and made its way to the attic of the building. The extent of the fire’s damage may require the company to reconstruct most of the building or renovate it entirely, he said.
Correction: It’s on RAY Road and I-10, not Chandler.
