3 people dead, 6 injured in vehicle collision

A two-vehicle collision killed three people and left six injured on the U.S. 89 freeway early Sunday, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The accident, which occurred about 30 miles north of Flagstaff around 10 a.m., has closed the 89 freeway in both directions until further notice in order for helicopters to land.

The identities of the people involved in the accident have not been released. DPS crews are still on the scene investigating the collision.

    PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE! SLOW DOWN & GET OFF THE PHONE & WATCH WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!! IF YOU CAN’T THEN GET OFF THE ROAD & LET SOMEONE ELSE DRIVE! I’M SICK OF IT!

    Until the ADOT builds better highway dividers, and until people stop driving under the influence. This will happen over and over again. These accidents have no impact on the state or police. Until a tragedy like this hits close the their home, no changes will be made. Thats the way it works in Arizona.
