Woman killed after vehicle hits semi truck

A woman lost control of her vehicle and ran into the back of a semi truck near a Phoenix intersection early Saturday morning where she was transported to a hospital and later died from her injuries, police say.
Phoenix police spokesman Joel Tranter said the woman collided with the truck near the intersection of 40th Street and Broadway around 1:20 a.m. He was unsure whether the woman, who has not been identified, died on the scene or en route to the hospital.
Police are investigating if speed or alcohol played a factor in the accident. The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
