A 24-year-old man was killed Friday in Papago Park after investigators believe he hiked off the main trail and fell over 100 feet to his death.
James Erickson was found around 11 p.m. by other hikers on a trail near 6000 E. McDowell Road, according to Joel Tranter of Phoenix police.
Tranter said the fall was believed to be accidental and police are still investigating the scene. Erickson was believed to be hiking by himself when another group of hiker discovered his body after his fall.
