The 35th Annual Arizona Peace Officers Memorial Service will be held at the Arizona Capitol complex on Monday night.
The service commemorates Arizona Peace Officers Memorial Day and commences Arizona Peace Officers Memorial Week by honoring officers killed in the line of duty during the past year.
Gov. Janet Napolitano and Attorney General Terry Goddard, chairman of the Arizona Peace Officers Memorial Board, will be joined by representatives from law enforcement agencies throughout the state.
The fallen officers being honored this year are: Senior U.S. Border Patrol Agent Luis Aguilar; Phoenix Police Officers George Cortez, Jr. and Nicki “Nick” Erfle, Casa Grande Police Sgt. Tate Lynch and Mohave County Sheriff’s Deputy Philip Rodriguez.
The event at Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza begins at 7 p.m.
