Gunfire pelts nearby homes

An early Sunday morning shooting in Mesa where gunfire was exchanged between vehicles left bullet holes in two houses.
Police officers responded to 1098 E. 2nd Street after someone called 911 to report shots were fired.
When officers arrived to the area, they found a vehicle that had been rammed by another vehicle and several shell casings around the vehicle that had been rammed.
Police said three possible bullet holes were found on two houses that were behind the shooting.
Police said they couldn’t locate anyone who saw the shooting, but witnesses did see a balck truck and maroon car leave the area following the gunfire. It’s unknown if anyone was injured.
