A security guard at a Tempe bar was stabbed repeatedly on Friday night during an argument, and police are asking the public’s help in identifying the person responsible.
Police described the assailant as black, in his early 20s, 5 feet 10 inches and 160 pounds with short, shaved black hair. He was last seen wearing dark jeans and tennis shoes and a white T-shirt with some sort of design with a red T-shirt underneath.
The 39-year-old victim, whose name wasn’t released, was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition, police said. He suffered stab wounds to his chest and arms.
Police said the incident occurred about 9:10 p.m. outside La Pita Bar, 505 S. Mill Avenue.
Some witnesses told police that the assailant may have been with another man, but little additional information was available.
