A motorcyclist died Saturday when his speeding motorcycle collided with a car.

Chandler police spokesman detective David Ramer said the collision occurred about 1 a.m. when a motorcycle northbound on Dobson Road traveling at “an extreme speed” collided with a car that was making a left-hand turn from Dobson Road onto Palomino Street.

Julio Gonzalez, 25, was pronounced dead on the scene. Police didn’t know Monday where Gonzalez resided.

The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non life-threatening issues, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
