Chain gangs to carry anti-drunken driving slogans

January 30th, 2008, 10:04 am · 1 Comment · posted by Gary Grado

Inmates convicted of drunken driving will be cleaning roadsides and carrying signs warning against driving drunk near Super Bowl festivities until the game Sunday.
The DUI Chain gang wears shirts bearing its name and the message “Clean(ing) and Sober.
While most of the inmates pick up trash along the roadway, two of them will hold signs that read: “Drive and Drink and You’ll wear Pink,” a reference to the color of jail issued underwear, according to a press release from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Women inmates will carry signs that read: “Ladies, horizontal stripes will make you look fat! So don’t drink and drive.”
