A fire at a Scottsdale condominium complex forced the evacuation of eight units on Monday.
The blaze at 9450 E. Becker Lane started around noon inside an upstairs wall and spread upward into the attic, Scottsdale fire spokeswoman Tiffani Nichols said. Emergency crews had the fire knocked down within an hour.
Four second-floor units suffered smoke damage, while the units downstairs were affected by water. The number of residents displaced was not immediately known.
A plumber was working in the area where the fire started and he was the person who reported it, Nichols said. The official cause won’t be known for a few days.
