A Mesa woman with an infant was robbed Thursday by men armed with a rifle that invaded her home, forced her to lie down in a bedroom and stole $1,000 in cash.
The crime occurred about 10:10 p.m. at a home in the 400 Block of East 10th Drive, police said. The woman had been expecting a friend to drop by, so when her doorbell rang, she answered. But instead of a friend coming over, two men burst through the door.
Police said they made her go down a hall into her children’s bedroom and lie down. They asked where the money was and where her wallet was. One man kept an eye on her and the other went into her bedroom and stoleher wallet, a TV and a Sony Play Station.
The woman told police she had a large amojnt of cash in the wallet because she was going to send it to a friend in California.
It’s unknown which way the men went to get away and a vehicle was not heard or seen.
The men are described as black with hooded sweatshirts. One man wore a mask, but took it off at one point.
