The City of Chandler continues to mount its attack on red-light runners and lead-foot drivers. On Sept. 28 red-light and speed-on-green cameras will be turned on at the intersections of Alma School and Queen Creek roads and Gilbert and Riggs roads. For 30 days most motorists will receive a warning ticket. The exception is anyone driving 20 mph or more over the posted speed limit. Those drivers will receive a ticket and face a fine. Starting Oct. 29, all drivers caught traveling at 11 mph or more over the speed limit will be ticketed. On July 25, the Chandler
Police Department began using its first speed-on-green camera at Arizona Avenue and Ray Road. The city has said it will put up 12 speed-on-green cameras.
