The mother of Shevy Wright — a 9-year-old boy who Chandler police swore in as one of their own — recently received a car donated to make sure he can get to and from medical appointments.Shevy was diagnosed in December with a terminal brain tumor. It was his wish to become a police officer and on July 18 Chandler police made his wish come true.Since then, he has been receiving cancer treatments at the Envita Natural Medical Center in Scottsdale. He is being sponsored by the Fullness of Life Foundation. And on Sept. 14, the Chandler Lieutenants and Sergeants Association together with the Chandler Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 14 presented the Toyota Corolla to his mother, Heather Wright. The car with 45,000 miles was purchased and donated by Baxter Chapman, president of Chapman Auto Dealerships, and Chipper Dossey of Roy Dossey plumbing in Chandler.Other donations paid for one year of auto insurance and $1,000 worth of gas cards.
