The robber handed over a demand note and took off with money.A witness told police the man’s license plate number and authorities tracked him to a home in the 2100 block of East Yale.While police were conducting surveillance on the home, the man and a woman escaped in a truck, police said. The pair was followed and cornered, but the robber drove into an unmarked police car and got away.Police tracked the man using only a helicopter and he dropped off the woman and bought a pack of cigarettes.The law finally caught up with him when he drove over stop sticks and ended up back at his home. Police said they found money and an unopened pack of cigarettes in the truck.
