Police seized more than 1500 pounds of marijuana on Wednesday night that was transported from Texas to a northeast Phoenix residence. The Phoenix police Drug Enforcement Bureau recovered several large blocks of the drug stacked inside a home at 3112 East Dahlia Dr., which sits within a quiet neighborhood, police said. Police received a call from the El Paso Police Department this morning about suspicious wooden crates that were be transported from the city to Phoenix. The drug team followed the rental truck and watched the suspects unload the 5-by-5 foot crates. The stench from the leafy drug filled the entire neighborhood, Detective Bob Ragsdale said. Two men from Phoenix and one man from El Paso, Texas, were arrested in connection with the raid. The street value of the marijuana is estimated at $500,000.
