Bomb Squad Called

Tempe police called its bomb squad Tuesday to check on an object that looked like dynamite taped together that was found during a death investigation. It turned out to not be an explosive. The incident unfolded when a transient called about 9:20 p.m. to report a dead body in the 2400 block of East Apache, a place where transients camp. There were no signs of trauma to the body and investigators believe drugs may have been a factor. Investigators found the object and decided to call the bomb squad.
