A fire destroyed a strip club on the Scottsdale-Tempe border early Monday.Fire crews from the Rural Metro, Scottsdale and Tempe fire departments responded to a 911 call about 5:35 a.m. Monday after two workers discovered a blaze inside a room at Fantasy Island, 963 E. Curry Road on a county island area, according to Rural Metro District Chief Michael Long.The 9,000 square-foot building is a total loss, and its origin and damage amount are under investigation, according to Long.When crews arrived, there were heavy flames coming from the interior and exterior of the building, and after the workers told firefighters no one was in the building, no one entered the building because of the extensive damage it had already sustained, Long said.No injuries were reported, Long said.Crews fought the blaze for several hours and will be monitoring the property throughout the night for any flames rekindling from hotspots, Long said.
