Mesa man shot in attempted robbery

A 31-year-old Mesa man was shot in the leg in front of his house after a 41-year-old man was hit over the head with a pistol by three teenagers who attempted to rob a family at a residence late Friday.Three teenage Hispanic males, described as 17 to 19 years old, pulled up to a house in the 600 block of South Sycamore in a white four-door car about 10 p.m. and tried to rob the family and friends of the man who was shot, according to Mesa police.After the 41-year-old man was hit over the head with a pistol, the 31-year-old man was shot in the leg, resulting in a broken leg, according to police.The man who was hit in the head with the pistol was treated for a minor injury at the scene, according to police. The car the trio fled in was described as possibly a Chrsyler 300M Series with 20" chrome rims, police said.
